Family River Day

Location: Northwestern Park
Date: Saturday, June 3rd

There will be crafts, games, food, rafting, and a chance to try inflatable kayaks. The event is free, including rafting.
Whitewater rafting is happening thanks to our partnership with Wet Planet Whitewater. The rafting will be on the Lower White Salmon, a class 2/3 section of whitewater. Limited spots are available, please sign up below. More information will be provided after initial sign-up.
If you are interested in trying an inflatable kayak or in playing games please bring clothes you can get wet. All other gear will be provided.
Rescue and Race Day

Location: Northwestern Park and Cavewave
Date: July 14th
Time: 3pm

The race will be held on the Lower White Salmon and the river rescue skills class will be held on the takeout rapid at Northwestern.
Previous participation with the Columbia Gorge Junior Kayak Club is a requirement for kids to participate in the river rescue class and in the race.
The river rescue class is for those 18 and under. The class will be from 3-4:30pm. Please sign up ahead of time.
The race is an open community event with competition opportunities for both adults and kids. There will be a whitewater rodeo at Cave wave and a race from Cave wave to Northwestern. The race will start at 5pm with registration starting at 4:00pm in Husum.
Food and prizes at Northwestern after racing commences.
River Clean Up

Location: mouth of the White Salmon
Date: August 12th
Time: 5pm

We are hosting our annual river clean-up at the mouth of the White Salmon on August 12th at 5pm.
There will be a stewardship presentation. Non-alcoholic beverages will be provided.
